Welcome to Kestrels class, which is a Year 3/4 class.

Maths Calculations.
Solving calculations using base 10 and counters.
English description writing.
In English we have been writing a description of a forest. We have been using our senses, similes and adverbials phrases.
Design Technology
In DT we have been using recycled plastic bottles to make painted elephants. This has been linked to our theme lessons about recycling and saving the planet.
Theme
In theme we have been looking at recycling and climate change and we have just located countries in North and South America and Europe. Linking to this, in DT we have been junk modelling creating elephants from recycled milk bottles. Have a look below at some of our amazing creations.
RE
“We have far more in common with each other than that which divides us”. This week every child in school has been thinking about this quote and what it means to them. Thinking specifically about equality and diversity. The children have created some fantastic pieces of artwork independently to show what the quote means to them. The teachers of Frenchwood are so proud of some of the conversations that have been had in school as well as the amazing artwork produced.
Science
As part of our Science we are carrying out longitudinal studies throughout the year. We will be observing the changes that we can see in the park such as habitats, plants and flowers and even animals that we may see when we are out.
